Admission Procedures and Rules

  • Admission to the BG Ist year is governed by the procedure laid down by Higher Education Department of the J&K government and University Of Kashmir from time to time.
  • The University has introduced semester system for B.G.Ist year from the current academic session.There shall be total of six semesters spread over three years and each semester shall have two components - Internal Assesment and Semester End Examination.The weightage of marks for external and internal examinations will be in the ration of 80:20.However, students seeking admission for B.g 2nd year and 3rd year will continue in the old scheme of examinations. They will have to sit in mid-term test before appearing in the final annual exainations.
  • Candidates seeking admission to B.A/B.Sc Ist year should have passed Higher Secondary Part II in full with at least 45% marks in case of Open Category and 40% in case of reserved category.
  • Besides every admission seeking student is required to furnish an undertaking that he/she is not employed in any Government/Semi government or private institution, nor is she/he on the rolls of any other instittuion.
  • The admission shall be provisional and the college reserves the right to cancel the admission of any candidate at any stage if his/her credentials are found fake.

  • Four recent passport size photographs.
  • Provisional and Character certificates in orginal from the institution last attended.
  • Marks Certificate of the class last passed(12th) in orginal along with two attested Photocopies.
  • Matriculation certificate/date Of birth Certificate (orginal + two attested copies).
  • Students from reserved categories have to produce corresponding certificates from competent authority.
  • Students with a break in their academic career are required to provide an additional undertaking, on a non judicial stamp paper attested by 1st class magistrate stating the cause of break in their academic career.

Note:The Students are advised to go through the prospectus thoroughly before filling the admission form and strictly adhere to the Subject combinations approved by the University.
